Candy Corn Problem and Reaction Triangles--courtesy of Jesse!
We have had a great week! It's been busy, but the kids have done such great work and we've covered a lot of ground!
This week, we discussed problem sizes (big, medium and small) and reaction sizes (big, medium and small). We discussed how our reactions need to match our problems and having reactions that are too big is unexpected behavior. We made problem/reaction triangles that are shaped like candy corn and are hanging from our ceiling. (I realize that we did the colors out of order--I have no excuse!) We read a book called When Sophie Gets Angry, Really, Really Angry and discussed her problems and reactions. On Thursday, we began a project about feelings and how your face looks when you feel certain things. We drew faces on ghosts and wrote about what makes us feel different feelings. 4th graders will finish next week.
We also had time for a game day! The kids are getting so good at inviting each other to play and thinking win-win when they don't agree! I'm so proud of them!
Have a great weekend and get outside! It's supposed to be chilly next week!
