Hi families! I hope you had a nice week and enjoyed the sunshine. I can't get enough of it! We had a great week at school. We continued with our March Madness Book Brackets. We read How to Lose All Your Friends, Interrupting Chicken, Sometimes I Feel Like a Stormcloud, and My Friend Is Sad. The kids are having fun voting on their favorite books and it's fun to watch them see if their predictions are correct or not. On Monday, we played Conversation Jenga--a game I made with Jenga blocks and a Sharpie. :) The kids had to ask each other questions and try to maintain a conversation. On Tuesday, we did some data and graphing activities with Skittles (for St. Patrick's Day). It was neat to see the students problem solving and working with data. On Thursday, my afternoon group was cut short so we could see Basketball Jones who did a phenomenal assembly about personal responsibility, achievement and relationships. It was awesome! On Friday, the kids had a great time reading a book and having Game Day.
Joke of the week: "How do bees get home from school? They ride the buzzzz!"
Side note:
Some of you know that my husband is finishing medical school in May and we have been eagerly (and anxiously) awaiting his placement for residency. On Friday, we learned that he will be completing his residency in Lansing, Michigan in Emergency Medicine. We are excited and thankful! Thank you to those of you who have offered encouraging words and thank you for being patient with my stressed out brain the past few weeks!
