I hope you had a nice week. Our school week was abbreviated, so we didn't cover a lot of social skills ground, but we did have a few conversations. Wednesdays are the day we don't have group due to the building schedule, so I didn't meet with the kids for the purpose of having social skills time. On Thursday, my 3rd grade group talked about the difference between joking/teasing, being rude, being mean and bullying. I've included the document that we used below. My 4th and 5th grade group enjoyed a game day with Mrs. Szalay. On Friday, my 2nd and 3rd grade groups reviewed Mean Jean and my 4th/5th grade group had a conversation about being polite and spent some time working on academics. We will continue the Mean Jean conversations next week. We did not have a joke or emotional vocabulary word due to the brevity of the week. Have a wonderful weekend--it's supposed to be beautiful!
I often wonder how many people read this blog and utilize the resource that we put on this website, due to the questions I frequently get that are covered on the blog/website.. If you are reading this, please email me with the code LKWD and your child will receive a special prize.
Thanks! Play outside this weekend! :)
