The joke of the week this week was:
"Why was the math book so sad? It had too many problems!"
I hope you had a warm weekend! Bundle up this week!

Hi Everyone! Sorry this post took so long--the week kind of got away from me! We did a lot of learning last week and covered a lot of ground. We read about Habit 3: Put first things first. We talked about the importance of prioritizing and getting our work done before we play. Some children shared about their evening routines which reflect that concept, so it was great to hear! We also added Rock Brain to our Superflex Notebooks--the children wrote about him, wrote how to defeat him and colored a picture. On Thursday and Friday, we spent some time taking a Social Thinking Survey, where the children rate their understanding and demonstration of the basic social skills from the Social Thinking curriculum. It was interesting to see some children reflections line up with my assessment of them, and other children have very different perspectives of their abilities. It is something we will continue to revisit throughout the year. On Friday, we had a massive game day with 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders from our program. It was great to watch the kids form new groups and navigate new social interactions with children with whom they don't always interact.
