WOW! This week has been busy! The assessment window for the new state standardized tests (formerly MEAP) opened, as did the window for the NWEA MAP tests. We have also been taking DRA assessments to make sure everyone is where they need to be after spring break! Whew! We have also been talking about social filters--deciding what to say and what NOT to say. The fifth graders did a cool activity with glitter, a coffee filter and water to illustrate things that we keep in our brain (4th graders will do it too--I just ran out of week!) We discussed thought bubbles and speech bubbles and played some games to tell the difference between thoughts we think and thoughts we say. This is such a huge social skill that we will continue to work on it. Today, we're wrapping up our hard-working week with some games!
The joke this week is: "What do polar bears eat for lunch?
Ice-burg-ers!"
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this weather! Please be sure to check the calender obsessively--this is the busiest and craziest time of year! A lot is happening and a lot will be added!
And for your viewing pleasure--here is Josh "thinking"! Love it!
