This week, we spent more time talking about our social filters and what we should say vs. what we should keep in our thought bubbles. The kids did a great job sorting cards of phrases into "Say it" or "Think it". They also listened to a book called Don't Squeal Unless It's a Big Deal. This book touched on what should stay in our thought bubbles, as well as problem size. We also got to share out about our spring breaks and the children practiced asking one another questions using question words. Some groups did really well and others really stretched themselves. It was a great opportunity to talk about staying on topic as well as showing interest in others and what they think is important. So many skills!
Mrs. Szalay enjoyed a game day with the students on Friday this week. We worked really hard and have earned this weekend!
Joke of the week: "What building has a lot of stories?
A library!"
Emotional vocabulary word of the week: Glum. The children wrote it in their social skills notebooks under "sad".
