Sorry! For some reason, my post on Friday was deleted! Weird!
So this past week, we worked really hard and got a lot done! On Monday, we read Moody Cow Meditates-- a book about identifying and controlling your anger. This book was one of the contenders in our March Madness Book Bracket (see photos under our photo tab) that the kids will be voting on through the month of March. We are using these opportunities to practice our literacy skills. The fifth graders spent some time talking about their weekend and the fourth graders worked a bit on their Superflex curriculum--they learned about Brain Eater and his ability to distract your brain. Tuesday was a professional development day for teachers. On Thursday, we read The Way I Feel and got some assessments done. On Friday, we read Bear Feels Scared enjoyed some times playing games. We also watched a hidden curriculum video on farting. It was funny for everyone--the kids weren't sure if they were supposed to laugh--it was really cute! We learned about the dos and don'ts of farting. You can find the hidden curriculum videos that we're watching under the Resources tab on a new page called Hidden Curriculum.
The joke this week was:
"What do you call a frozen kangaroo?
A HOPsicle!"
