It was a bit of an odd week, with no school Monday and a 1/2 day on Friday. We worked hard, but our schedules were a little disrupted.
On Tuesday, the students had game day with Mrs. Szalay. They really seem to enjoy this time as a break in their week and Mrs. Szalay loves the great learning opportunities! I love having the chance to catch up with children 1:1. On Thursday, we spent some time talking about "worried" and some of the groups watched a video called Mr. Worry. (Video is below if you want to watch it at home!) It's an old movie/character, but a good visual for the kids. I stopped the movie right after Mr. Worry has a worry free week and we talked about the reason his worries went away (he changed his thinking). They didn't watch the part where he kept worrying because he didn't have anything to worry about. No reason to plan that idea! :) On Friday, the groups that I meet with with work on Worry Wall--the Unthinkable that makes people worry to much. This will overflow into next week too.
The joke of the week is: "Where do pencils go on vacation?
Pencil-vania!"
We did not have an emotional vocabulary word this week, but Morgan has requested "pumped" for next week! I love how excited they get about these learning routines! Stay tuned!
