Not a huge blog this week. On Monday I was at the START conference with Mrs. Szalay. The kids had Mrs. L who was the previous sub for Mrs. Reece so the kids knew her well. They read "Mama Llama, Home with Mama", a donated book from the Cataldo family. The kids talked about the wonderful things their mamas do for them! This kick started a mother's day sheet the kids completed (some of the answers are so great!). We also started a hand made card that will be coming home this week with a gift for mom. We reviewed the green circle and painted a page for our circles book. Green is for our best friends. They will be people we trust right after our family. These people we see regularly, they know our families and we know theirs, we have been to each others homes, possibly have had sleepovers or small vacations together. Our upper el kids started the MSTEP (so long!) and the 5th graders went to camp! I wrapped up some IEPs for our crew, but may have a few more to attend for PAL, but I will keep you posted. This coming week we will continue our mom gifts and circles. I believe we only have 3 library times left. The second to last one the kids can only check out one book and the last library session will be reading under the stars. For that time, please send your child with a flashlight. In the past, some of our kids are so upset when they don't have one. Lots of events coming up, please check the Hawk Talk and your child's general ed teacher's blog or newsletter for more info specific to the class. This Friday is movie night starting when the sun sets outside. They will be watching Moana! And the spring fair is May 19! So many cool opportunities coming up! :)
Have a great week!
