This week we made witch hats with small, medium, and big problems. The kids did a great job reviewing problem and reaction sizes. We will continue this topic to sort types of problems and reactions. We played Halloween Bingo as well and practiced expected and unexpected ways of trick or treating. On Thursday we watched, "The Great Pumpkin" and talked about expected and unexpected behaviors we saw. I paused the short video and they had a chance to show thumbs up or down for the behaviors.
We continue to build the visuals we need. 2nd graders went with me to their lockers and we added a dry erase insert and listed out what they need to take to class and pack up for home. I talked about how they can organize themselves by making lists, checklists, and have pictures to view. For now this will all be modeled or done for them, but it is important that kids who are able can learn to be empowered to help themselves and learn how they learn best.
Hope you have a wonderful Halloween!
