This short week started off with some game day fun with Mrs. Szalay and friends! The other days in group we continued our work on goal setting by writing about something we are good at and something we need help with to begin to think about how we are helped at school. This will be a segue into keeping their IEP goals in their leadership notebooks (in my room only). I have turned their goals into "kid friendly" language so they can review it and we can refer back to what we are all helping them to be better at. I'm excited to share it with them in the next week or so. Concepts will continue to be taught toward these goals, but we will pause to share with them what has been set up. These are some of the first steps to self-advocacy and learning about ourselves.
Kindergarten kiddos continued work in the poetry folder, wrote thank you notes for our books from LHS and continued unit 3 in math. We have been reading "The Snowy Day" and doing some activities and discussion about snow. We have been using Moby Max or ABCYA a bit more not only for concepts but to continue our mouse practice. In the coming weeks I will be assessing the kids in their reading levels and will be updating you how they do as well as what we can focus on.
We started with new recess buddies this week. Ask your child who he or she is playing with at recess!
