In first grade we also worked on some reading assessments. We also reviewed a powerpoint that I made about snow rules. We have had some issues with being appropriate in the snow (other kids as well) so we looked at some pictures and made a list of what we CAN do in the snow and what we CAN'T do in the snow. Audrey made the connection that the can side is being expected and the can't side is unexpected. Ahhhhh (can you hear my chorus of angels singing?!)!! I love when the kids make these types of connections. That really shows that learning is being internalized. Love it.
Monday, I will be going to PAL (the preschool program) to observe kiddos who may come to us next year for kindergarten, so there will be a guest teacher. I will answer any emails on Tuesday. Thank you to those of you who found the secret code in last weeks blog. Only 50% responded, so I need to figure out how to get more readers! This is how I communicate what we worked on and Mrs. Reece and I try to add to the resources and teacher chat blog to address what parents tend to ask for. Spread the word! We want to have this been a frequently used means of information sharing. Thank you for those of you who read this as often as you do. When you use our vocabulary and concepts, the kids respond much quicker because you are with them more! When home and school can be consistent we will have better success, so I appreciate it. Have a great week!
