This week we talked about levels of touch for each circle. All of the kids caught up on each color and what it represents and then we discussed the type of affection or touch that applied to each level. The breakdown of colors so you can reinforce the same concepts and messages at home and in the community are as follows: Purple-self-calming, self-soothing. We can hug ourselves, take care of our bodies (hygiene), and find strategies that help our bodies feel better if we are upset (squeezes, rubbing arms, getting a drink, etc.). Blue-hugs and kisses for our closest family members we trust. Green-Hugs only and only when they are asked for. Yellow-Handshakes, high fives, and fist bumps. Orange-Just a wave (no touching), Red-NO TOUCHING, NO CONTACT (hands down).
We finished up all reading assessments! Whew!
More to come! Have a great week!
