I hope you had a great week! We were busy here! On Monday, the children began working on their projects for Father's Day. On Tuesday, we read a book called Don't Rant and Rave on a Wednesday. It's a book about anger and dealing with it appropriately. On Thursday, we had game day (we moved it up a day due to my absence). On Friday, we spent time cutting out pictures of our family and working on our Circles book.
As a reminder, homework folders are done and should be turned in for the final time. Students can continue working on incomplete homework for the rest of the year, but in lieu of homework, I've asked the children to spend 20-30 minutes reading each night (the standard of time that has been expected all year) and spend 30-40 minutes playing outside (or electronic free if the weather is bad) each night. As we finish the year and assess like crazy, it's important to balance the business of learning with the business of childhood which is imaginative play!
The joke of the week:
"What is a chalkboard's favorite drink?
Hot chalk-olate!" Thanks for that gem Mrs. Szalay!
And now, I leave with you a photo from last weekend!
