Well, Happy Summer! It's been a long, exciting year, and this week has been no exception. My primary role in the last week of school is to support the children in what they are doing with their gen. ed. classes and to provide them with a place to go and things to do if that gets to be too much. So, this week, we did 1 social skills lesson. On Monday, we talked about how you can't always get what you want. We discussed things that we want and times that it hasn't worked out for us. Then (and most importantly), we talked about ways to stay calm when that happens. It is a concept we've discussed before (repeatedly), but it's something that's good to revisit around this time of year. Other than that, we've been finishing work, taking sensory breaks, cleaning out lockers and just enjoying the last few weeks together! I am really proud of all of my kiddos==especially my 5th graders who are moving on to middle school! I will miss you guys! Have a wonderful summer everyone! Keep an eye on our website--Ms. McQuillan and I will be updating the Teacher Chat as we come across new things. And remember to check on the 14-15 School Year drop down under resources for forms and such that you'll need for next year. Be safe and have an adventurous summer!
